ELLIO Fine Art is pleased to announce Energetic Fields, a solo exhibition by acclaimed New York painter Leslie Parke. Exploring the tension between structure, spontaneity, and the transformative power of color, Parke has visually charged life into these paintings.

Through stripes, circles, and thousands of accumulated marks, the artist creates compositions that balance order with disruption. Underlying structures emerge and dissolve beneath layers of paint, producing surfaces that shift between cohesion and complexity. From a distance, individual marks merge into expansive fields of color and light; up close, they reveal the distinct gestures and deliberate decisions that shape each work.

Resisting a singular or static reading, these paintings invite viewers to move between the whole and its parts, discovering new relationships through changes in perspective and proximity. In Energetic Fields, structure provides a foundation, but the energy of the work emerges from everything that pushes against it.

“The energy in the title is something the paintings do. It comes from color pushing against color, from marks colliding, from a fixed structure and everything straining to get out of it. It also comes from the viewer moving through the room. Change one small thing in a field like this and the balance of the whole shifts. Structure stays, but it never gets the last word.” - Leslie Parke
